Our First Hawk flute in the key of 'A' minor (440 Hz) is ideal for any first time player. The flute's characteristics makes it easy for new players to easily enjoy the experience of creating music while also building the foundational skills needed to play larger, deeper-toned flutes. Poplar wood is a lightweight, straight grain, uniform texture hardwood that provides a crisp, clear musical voice. This flute has a Walnut wood fetish.

We created a special vegan version of this flute for those who choose not to purchase animal-based products. Our vegan First Hawk utilizes a non-leather tie for securing the flute's fetish to the body of the flute.

This flute is tuned to the key of A minor, this flute can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of C.

At this time the Vegan First Hawk flute does not come with a hole cover since the our hole covers are leather. We are working to find an equally functional, non-leather, hole cover alternative.

Both the length, finger-hole size, and the diameter of the flute all contribute to why it's an excellent flute for any new player. It is approximately 18-inches (45 cm) in length.
